Blueprint - Behr Colour of The Year 2019
I’ve been really lucky with work. I am in a role I love, talking about products I love, and I talk trends in home décor on a daily basis. One of the perks of my job this week was the opportunity to travel to New York City to be a part of the 2019 Behr Colour of the Year launch party.
Before the festivities began, I had the chance to catch up with a good friend on Tuesday night, explored Brooklyn a little and ended up in the most entertaining bar, with sand on the ground, and dollar bills hanging above the bar. It was humorous. We played pac man, pinball and skee-ball at some local bars and sampled some local craft beers. (Yes, I totally killed my diet!)
Wednesday morning Behr Paint hosted the loveliest brunch at Lafayette Grand Café in NoHo (North of Houston St.). This venue was perfection. I think I have the newest inspiration for my future house. With creamy-white cabinetry, navy encaustic tiles, with accents of marble, copper and stainless steel, I felt like I was in a dream. The café has a European feel, so warm and welcoming with a beautiful patio lined with plants that make you forget you’re in the middle of the city that never sleeps.
During brunch, I had the pleasure of meeting some Canadian influencers who I have followed on Instagram for so many years; some women who offer some of the most lovely design inspiration, creative content and authentic feeds. I was a bit of a fan girl, not going to lie.
The main event was later that evening, and I have to admit, getting a sneak preview was really exciting. With everything inspired by the Behr Colour Of the year “Blueprint” I’m second-guessing my lack of colour in my home, and the need to do something fun and exciting. To make things easier, Behr actually curated 4 palettes that show the different ways you can use the colours, (you can see them all here!) and then incorporated them into a number of different rooms so you could truly envision it in your space. How great is this?
Another part of my job that makes me pretty proud is how Home Depot gives back in the community, Behr really took this to heart and worked with local artisans to craft Blueprint inspired ceramics, weavings, murals, and candles that visitors could purchase, with all proceeds going to a local charity!
I really can’t get enough of New York City, I’m counting down the days until I can go back!
Are you feeling inspired to start painting after seeing any of these colours?
This post is not sponsored, but I do work for the Home Depot and this is a recount of the event of a business trip.
